The case, 27 year old¢¥ Caucasian American male, has taken 13,000 mg of Tilidine daily for 8 months. Gradual withdrawal of the drug was impossible because of his intolerance of withdrawal symptoms. Nalorphine test resulted in positive response during the initial maintenance medication of Tilidine. Typical withdrawal symptoms such as yawning, lacrimation, rhinorrhea, chilliness perspiration, sneezing, uncontrollable insomnia could be evaluated 4 hours after withdrawal and goose flesh, tremor and muscle cramp of the face, extremities and abdomen, anorexia, increased blood pressure and pulse, urinary incontinence, diarrhea, vomiting and brownish discoloration of both eye lids and emotional excitement were noticed 24 hours after withdrawal.
